Summer 2020 - DO. NOT. TAKE. COMM 1 WITH MILLER. This man consistently loses over half of the classes' assignments despite all of us resending all of them THROUGH EMAIL multiple times. His voice is also extremely difficult to understand and listen to in general. He sometimes makes jokes with misogynistic and racist undertones and is overall unbearably annoying to interact with, even on zoom.

Spring 2019 - This class is easy, but it's a lot of busy work. You'll have to do journals, 3 pages each, 12 journals total over the whole quarter, but prof requires Arial 14-pt font so it's easy. You'll do one debate. it isn't that bad, work with your partner and it'll be fine. you can reference his other debates on the same exact topic on youtube if you get lost. you'll basically spend 4+ weeks in this class watching debates and writing a couple sentences on who you thought won and why on ccle. The class size is small so you get to know everyone, which takes away the pressure of talking in front of everyone. Midterm and final are 10% and the answers can always be found in the online textbook that he provides for free on ccle. they're take home. 2 speeches towards the end of the quarter, like 2 mins. easy. basically on what you learned. overall, would take again, is a GPA booster, gives out extra credit a lot, curves the class, just a lot of busy work esp. towards the end of the quarter, but a ton of it you can do early and not worry about it again.

Winter 2019 - This class was honestly super disorganized and difficult to follow. The class did not follow the syllabus at all and Prof Miller threw arbitrary deadlines at us every week. We ended up with a 12 pg paper and a 24 pg paper due on the same day because he was so behind on coursework. We also got very little instruction on any of our assignments, how to conduct proper speeches, and he often got irritated at us when we asked questions about what he wanted. I also found his jokes very rude, distasteful, and personally directed towards students at many points.

Winter 2019 - Pretty horrible instructor. No offense, but in my opinion he is too old to be teaching at this point. The syllabus had written certain dates that things were due and then the week before he changed them to be due earlier (midterm). He barely responded to emails and was honestly pretty rude in attempt to be funny. I would never recommend this class to anyone. He also assigned a total of 80+ pages throughout the quarter. What a waste of paper because it was all busy work.
