Todd is a clear lecturer and it's clear that he's very passionate about film and tries to pass that on to his students. Grading scheme is lenient, the class material is interesting enough - overall 10/10 course and professor - would definitely take again!

Excellent class, easy and fun so that you learn a lot without feeling any stress or pressure. I enjoyed the lecture videos as a break from other classes, so this class felt more like a hobby than a class. My only issue with this class is that the professor chose to follow a specific narrative of film history, so the class didn't have time to watch a lot of very important historical movies. Totally understandable, but a little frustrating to have a whole bunch of incredibly influential movies referenced throughout the lectures without having them assigned for viewing/discussion. Other than that, though, a really interesting and fun class if you enjoy movies. Participation was required in discussion, but other than that you can put in about as much work as you'd like.
