I highly encourage taking this class with this professor. She was very understanding throughout the quarter and genuinely wanted students to do well on exams. She assigned us weekly quizzes on a scientific article and a separate quiz ("end of the week quizzes") that was super straightforward as long as you were caught up on lectures. Highly recommend!! Loved this class!
This was by far my favorite class taken at UCLA thus far. Professor Kane gives extremely engaging lectures, and made EEB 142 amazing. The class itself is very interesting, and Kane was able to get everyone really excited about aquatic communities.
Exams in this class were pretty straightforward. Study her slides and learning objectives really well and you'll have no problem doing well on them. The tests consists of T/F, multiple choice, and short answer style questions. Discussion is very important in this class and makes up 220 of the 600 total points in the class. Discussion assignments including writing summaries and questions on the assigned papers, taking quizzes on CCLE, and writing a critique.
Overall, a wonderful class. You will have lots of fun and will not have a problem getting a good grade.
