HE IS THE BEST TEACHER! He has a great teaching style and all his quizzes and exams are fair. Conley explains EVERYTHING. His lectures are thorough and he writes down every detail you need for your notes. There isn't too much homework and he truley cares about his students! TAKE HIS CLASS, EVEN IF YOU DON'T NEED MATH FOR YOUR MAJOR

Course taken is actually Life Sciences 30A - Mathematics for Life Scientists, NOT Math 19. OK. So this is my first quarter, and I don't know much about professors, but so far, Professor Conley is my absolute favorite professor. He is very, very clear in his teaching style. His lectures might go at a quite slow speed, but that is a good thing because that helps a lot of people (maybe even nearly everyone) in the class to understand the concept. And no accent (try some other "foreign" professors, and you will see what I mean)! And you are very welcome to come to his office hours. I personally did not visit his office that many times, but I enjoyed every time that I spent there. He is very, very approachable. Just go to his office and get to know him. TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO! He might even become your favorite UCLA professor.

Spring 2020 - Will Conley (and Artur who taught with him) are quite possible the best professors on the entire campus. I took this course during the pandemic, and they have been so accommodating and understanding of student needs. LS30B is harder than LS30A, but not only does Conley make difficult linear and multi-variable concepts understandable, he also cares so much about student learning and well-being. He's a fantastic lecturer and is so clear with explanations! Only downside was that we had pre-lectures on top of normal lecture, so the workload was more than a usual in-person class; however, the professors allow you to watch at your own pace since its podcasted and drop your lowest assignments. 100% recommend!!!

Fall 2019 - This professor knows what he is teaching and gives engaging lectures. He is very nice and actually cares about your grades and tries to give you the best appropriate grade that you deserve. He also provides the class with past midterms and finals to study before exam. His midterm were very similar to the practice midterms when I took the class. Also, if you need help or have a hard time understanding the material I would recommend for you to go to his office hours because he is very approachable. If you want a good grade and you will put effort then definitely go for him.

His notes and lectures are clear and very in depth! You don't need to read the textbook at all because his lectures teach the concepts very well. Do the homework because the weekly quizzes are almost identical to the homework problems. He definitely cares for his students because before every exam he has a review session and it lasts for as long as students need. We would ask a bunch of questions and he didn't even mind that the review session went to three hours. Calculus will never be completely easy, but his exams were fair and really tested your understanding of the material. If I could have him as a professor every quarter, I would! Definitely one of the best professors here on campus!

Winter 2017 - Although there are many positive reviews, I did not like this class. He is a great lecturer and holds review sessions before each midterm and final. However, his exams are extremely tough. I did not perform well in any of his exams even though I studied hard for them.

Fall 2021 - I wanted to write a review for this class because there were none when I wanted to take the class. First of all, Conley was an absolute godsend! He is one of the best teachers I've had in my life. He explains math concepts very clearly and will answer any and all questions really well. He is extremely helpful. However, sometimes it did feel a little slow because he would go over a concept for so long to make sure everyone gets it, but I personally really appreciated this. The class was not too hard (do his practice exams, they're very similar to the real exams) but the homework was the roughest part for me. Really double check your answers because it's VERY easy to lose points. Discussions are mandatory, and I'm not sure if it's the same each time but for my discussion we did questions that were on the homework so it was pretty useful! I believe he did offer extra credit towards the end of the quarter but I am not sure if he does that every time or if it was because our homework averages were quite low lol. Overall a great class and professor, would definitely recommend!
