The best professor I've ever had. He is dedicated to answering your every question and his explanations are PERFECT. He sacrifices late hours to helping his students. Truly a top-notch educator. I wish he could teach all of my math classes.
conley has a knack for explaining the more abstract concepts covered in this course in an easily accessible way. as a lecturer he was very thorough and clear, albeit a little slow at times. as a result, the class was consistently behind his posted syllabus. i can appreciate him taking his time to make sure everyone understood the concepts being taught, although i would have preferred a faster pace myself. conley also tends to exclude complicated proofs from his lectures, which may or may not be a positive depending on the level of rigor you want in your understanding. overall 5/7 perf would recommend
He is such a good professor. He explaining the concepts details by details so that you could always understand the lecture. If you do all of his practice midterms and finals, you could get an A. The review session before the final is useful.
I love Conley so much. He’s a great professor that can explain math to anyone. 31B is like BC calc without polars or parametric and some other stuff; it’s feels mostly like review if you remember BC, but could be pretty hard if you didn’t take it. The class moves fast and Conley is often at least two days behind schedule. His tests are fair, there are never any huge surprises. As a result most people do fairly well. He applies his usual two grading schemes which usually help most people. Discussion attendance is mandatory and he did these pre-class quizzes this quarter. Overall I’d recommend. Also don’t buy the book because you can find it online for free.
He is such a great professor. He is always willing to go over something again and he starts with the basics. As someone who struggled with 31A, this class made me love math again. His TAs and LAs are super helpful too. He gives plenty of practice exams for his tests. He is very straightforward on his tests. He also holds like 3-hour review sessions if you missed anything. If you can take him, TAKE HIM.
Professor Conley gave clear explanations of concepts and provided ample examples during class time. He was eager to help students with specific questions and his study sessions before the final and midterms were excellent, albeit lengthy, reviews that covered all necessary topics.
Although there are many positive reviews, I did not like this class. He is a great lecturer and holds review sessions before each midterm and final. However, his exams are extremely tough. I did not perform well in any of his exams even though I studied hard for them.
