I learned a lot in Dr. Yang's class. The class was enjoyable and his explanations were fairly clear. Workload was reasonable. He's very enthusiastic, which made his class fun. The only significant issue I had in his class was that he'd often jump around between slides or move through them, so I frequently had gaps in my notes. He posts all of his lecture notes so you can go back and fill in what you missed, but it can be a little inconvenient. Midterms were very reasonable. The final was very difficult, but he curves (or at least he did this quarter). I think he deserves a higher rating than he currently has here on bruinwalk. Despite some issues, I really enjoyed the class overall.
Don't mistake hard content with a bad lecturer, Yang Yang's classes were useful, but it was definitely something that needed to be supplemented with homework and practice problems. His lectures could be at times hard to understand, but were still useful. He definitely cares about the students, which can be shown by the effort he puts into preparing for the class.
