I took this class online using with the same format she used during COVID so it might be different and harder if taken in person. I loved the class and Professor Clark. She is so sweet and always happy. She held optional lectures you could attend or just do the lessons on your own. She also had group labs where it would be necessary some weeks but not most so it's not too bad and they were really easy. All quizzes, the midterm, and final were open note since it was online so it made it easier but definitely still study because it's not possible to use your notes since the tests are times. She has an awesome study tool that allows to practice questions that will be similar to those on the test. Overall I loved Professor Clark and wish I could have met her in person. She definitely made the online format doable and cared about her students.

This class was simple! I enjoyed it with her, the lectures were easy to follow on CCLE, and I was really engaged. The only reason I found the final difficult was because I didn't pay too much attention to the examples she always mentioned throughout her lectures (which was a big portion of the tests), and I was too lazy to go back through all the lectures. As long as you take good notes and do your work, you will get an A in her class. I only got an A- because I slacked at the end, I got 85% on both the midterm and final :p I got 100 on everything else besides the quizzes (85% lol). This class shouldn't be stressful! Highly recommend her as a professor.

Professor Clark is very passionate about her job. Her lectures weren't mandatory and she records her lectures. Howevery, the content on her midterm and final didn't exactly line up to what was taught. I took all the notes and did all of the practice quizes, yet I found myself to be at a complete loss w/ some of the questions. Other than that she's a pretty good professor. Weekly labs to do w/ your group and a quiz here and there.

I took this class for my major (pre-psychology), so obviously I was already interested in the topics being discussed, which made this class a bit easier. I took this course while it was completely online, so we had Zoom meetings on Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday was a lab period in which we worked in breakout rooms (with a randomly assigned lab group that we worked with for the whole quarter), and Thursday was an optional live Zoom to discuss the week's lesson. If you didn't attend Thursday, you just had to complete the lesson on your own. All the online lessons were due by the end of the quarter. It was helpful to stay on track and turn them in the week they were posted, which is how I did it, but every once in awhile I would get busy and turn it in a week later, which was still okay. I feel like this class was pretty hands-off in the sense that I hardly interacted with the professor, and the due dates for assignments were pretty lenient, so it was essentially an asynchronous format, aside from the lab group meetings. There were labs and either a quiz or reading response due each week, so there was a decent amount of work to do, but it was more than manageable. The midterm and final were both online as well, with a combination of multiple choice and short answer responses. The midterm was pretty straightforward, but I found some of the final multiple choice questions to be a bit difficult. They were open note, and even then I could not find some of the information in my notes (which were EXTENSIVE). So I am not sure how the exams would translate to in-person learning.

I really enjoyed this class and would take again especially with this Professor. The guidelines and expectations for the class were set up clearly and the Professor made useful PowerPoints to follow along with. Her tests were fairly easy as long as you put in the work and study. The workload each week was manageable as long as you stay on top of it.

Dr. Clark is a nice person, but her lectures were often disengaging. A lot of the material she talked about was often interesting, but her lecture style often bored a lot of students. Also, her exams were often very tough, she would often put things on her exams that were not covered on lecture slides. In addition, she becomes hella pissed if you even start whispering in class. Often she would go on her tippy toes, then shush the class by putting two fingers on her lips in the middle of her lecture just because someone in the back just whispered something. Obviously, the rest of the class would start laughing afterward but I dunno what she was doing.

Furthermore, some of her vernacular when she talks about people of color, underserved, inner-city populations, etc. were a little bit offensive. Her terminology especially when describing colored people and stereotyping was a bit offensive, though I am sure she was not trying to negatively describe colored people in the first place.

I would take Danan rather than her for Psych 10. Most people would agree.

Professor Clark is an extremely nice person who really cares about her students. Her lectures are not necessarily the most engaging, but they are not horrible. You do not need the rent/buy the $130+ textbook because it is not useful at all. The syllabus is as follows:

-Lab Component= 15%
a.) This class requires that you participate in a lab component or else you fail the class automatically. This involves booking psychological studies that you participate in. These can last anywhere from 1-3 hours, but it completely depends on you. If you have no time, you can opt out of the studies and instead write Psych abstracts( One Page, Double spaced= Not bad at all/ really easy). The 15% is made up of 60% labs 1-7 which are done in class individually and with a group(Fun and easy), and the remaining 40% is your final lab report which is two pages double-spaced. A rubric/ guide is provided. Your lowest lab score is dropped

-Online Quizzes= 10%
a.) There are four online quizzes that are not timed and are open book. There is no reason for you to get anything less than 100%. Your lowest quiz score is dropped.

-Participation(Clickers)= 5%
a.) You have to answer half the clicker questions, for half the days of class. Not graded/ just for attendance, not correctness.

-Midterm= 30%
a.) Pretty fair examination- Average was around 84%. To do well on this test, study the slides and look up AP Psychology quizlets. This is a multiple choice test and very doable if you study. 60 questions

-Final= 40%
a.) Multiple Choice again, cumulative, with more emphasis on post-midterm material. Study slides and quizlets to test terms. 75 questions

This class is not graded on a curve and is on a straight scale ( 90-92= A-, 93-96= A, 97+= A+).

Clark definitely does get agitated when people are whispering, even if nobody else can hear what she is hearing, but it's not that big of a deal. The TAs are super nice- Shoutout to Miriam- she was the best!

In conclusion, TAKE THIS CLASS, IT IS FAIR AND PRETTY INTERESTING. YOU WILL DO GREAT.

Professor Clark was very insightful and knowledgeable about psychology. She really cared for her students and their learning, and made psychology easy to understand even for people who had never taken a psych class before. In addition, her tests were all straightforward and she always made it clear what would be tested and what wouldn't be tested. I would take this class again!
