Koffi seems smart and an easy grader. Discrete math is basically algebra so the class was pretty easy. Homework assignments were not collected. Koffi organized extra evening office ours to answer homework questions on set theory, function theory, recurrence relations, graph theory, etc... Koffi's class just gives you a taste. Even though he took over the course in the middle of the session he explained the course material deeply. He made himself available on zoom several times during test days which I pretty much appreciate as I had the opportunity to come and ask clarification questions. Good Professor and nice dude! Also, solid replacement of Prof. Ozel!
Im selling the textbook for this class for $20 plus shipping, or you can offer something lower, if it hasn't sold yet, I might take it! email me: kafflucy@me.com
Koffi's lectures are pretty easy to follow. I sometimes complain that he goes over a concept for too long, but that can be good for some people. Pretty available for whenever you need extra help. Homework assignments are heavy. PLEASE don't save them for the last day. Overall solid professor and I wouldn't mind having him again.
TAKE HIM! Professor Koffi is so good. I took him during the summer and I'm meh at math, but still understood it! He's really kind and always makes time to explain things to people, and doesn't say the typical "we're wasting time, just read the textbook to understand". He truly cares us, you can tell. The homework was a bit intense, but that's since it does help to build a better foundation and the exams are usually easier than the homework he assigns. It was a bit fast, but that was since it was summer, I'm sure. I'd take him again in a heart beat! Accent is a bit hard tp understand if you aren't used to it though- but you get used to it after a few weeks or so.
The professor was incredibly kind all throughout the summer session. The class was relatively easy comparing to my other math classes but I'm guessing this is because difeq is a lot more of a problem solving type of math rather than like proofs and stuff. I liked the professors style of giving a lot of homework because it did make me learn a lot more but be warned it's quite a bit. He didn't set a deadline for any of the homework and just made it so that you can turn it in at the end of the quarter. Well, I procrastinated and the last few days were just misery. He makes you do upwards of 15 problems a day for every class day. The midterms and finals weren't bad however (very expectable) and he even offered an extra credit project. He really wants you to participate!
Prof. K is solid professor for multivariable calculus. Koffi has so many resources from making his own youtube videos, his recorded lecture videos, and other notes/problems just in case. He also always asks in lecture if people understand and is easy to reach outside class. Made Math 32a so much more bearable.
